My daughter and I were walking through the mall a couple weeks ago when we were approached by a young woman at a kiosk selling Dead Sea products. Since I love to check out products that claim to be healthy and therapeutic, I was curious, so we stopped and listened to her schpeel. Everything sounded good and she touted the benefits of the products from the Dead Sea. I had to take out my magnifying glass to actually read the full list of ingredients on the back of the products. And as is so common, the so-called health-enhancing products containing the wonderful ingredients that are so healing from the Dead Sea, were contaminated with multiple synthetic chemicals that no one should use on their skin.
When I checked their website, I noticed that they list only the “Special Ingredients” in the products as though they were the only ingredients, leaving out all the undesirable synthetic chemicals. This is so common among the companies that are pseudo-healthy, i.e. they claim to be healthy, but they really are not.
This experience reinforces what I always say when you are buying not only skin care products, but all products: Read the complete ingredients list before you buy. If the complete ingredients list is not available to read, DON’T BUY. Too many companies have something to hide. And if they do, they aren’t going to eagerly offer you full disclosure of the ingredients without you asking for it.
One DyingToLookGood member asked if the cosmetic line, Glominerals is OK. Her question and my reply are on the Question and Answer page in the member area.
